Operations & Marketing Director, Totally Locally
Marc is an award winning event organiser. As well as his work with Totally Locally he also runs his own independent marketing, events and place making business.
Marc worked for major Blue Chip finance companies Chartered Trust, First National Tricity Finance, Clydesdale Financial Services, Barclaycard and Barclays Partner Finance developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies and training programs with regional and national furniture and electrical retailers for retail finance products (Interest Free Credit, Buy Now Pay Later etc). Marc then went on to launch his own online and latterly a physical shop, Colloco, in his home town of Leek,Staffordshire. The shop was included in Ideal Home Magazine’s top 50 independent boutiques in the UK amongst other accolades.
Marc leads Totally Locally in his home town, Leek, which was used as one of the pilot towns to develop Totally Locally outside of Calderdale. In 3 years Leek has turned around with a plummeting shop vacancy rate of 5% (from 14%+), runner up in the Telegraph’s High Street of The Year Award 2013, launched the Sunday Supplement artisan market on the first Sunday of the month and won the Towns Alive award for Business and Economy for the Sunday Supplement.
Marc has spoken at conferences and run workshops in the UK and Ireland on regenerating market towns, creating sustainable events to develop town centre footfall and effective use of Social Media. He works on a consultancy basis for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council advising on High Streets, Markets and Events.
