The Totally Locally Fiver Fest is a big celebration of Britain’s fantastic small businesses and shops, many run by families or individuals, but ALL contributing massively to the economy of the UK and the wellbeing of our towns.

Towns and High Streets taking part put on special £5 offers over 1 week, to show the diversity and value of what they sell, and to say thank you to the communities that support them.

It comes from the (now famous) Totally Locally £5 message showing the huge impact of people spending just £5 per week in their local independent shops can have on our High Streets.

PLEASE NOTE: THE FIVER FEST IS BY INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES ONLY –

THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTE DIRECTLY INTO THE LOCAL ECONOMY OF THEIR TOWN. IT DOESNT INCLUDE BIG CHAIN STORES, SUPERMARKETS OR MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES. BECAUSE…….

CLICK  TO FIND OUT A LITTLE ABOUT THE £5 CONCEPT & FIVER FESTS>>

The Whole Totally Locally Concept runs on that simple & guilt free message – spend a fiver a week in your town, it helps your high street thrive and makes the place you live that little bit better.

Best of all you get the added bonus of connecting with your community, and supporting all those other local businesses that are all interconnected (the average independent business has 12 local suppliers, so each time you spend locally you support those other businesses too). Nice!

If you like Fiver Fest and think ‘my High Street could benefit from some of this totally locally action’ why not look at joining the wider Totally Locally Campaign?

It’s a free marketing & branding kit with loads of ‘How To Do a…’ type articles, a peer to peer group where people from all over the world chat and offer advice. It tells you how to get people working together and how to include everyone, whilst p••••ing off no one (not easy with small businesses!).

It’s in over 50 towns worldwide already, so it must do something right!  Just grab a brew, click here and browse!>>

To find out what offers are on in your town or high street, check out your local press, or social media. Look for #fiverfest or #totallylocally or #totallylocallyyourtownname   Most towns have Facebook too.

Independents' Day is just around the corner! . To draw a spotlight to independents, we’ve teamed up with campaign movement @ukindieday to showcase and celebrate the UK’s offering of extraordinary independent businesses. . Independents’ Day UK is a not-for-profit campaign that exists to support and promote independent retail businesses across the UK all year round, but with an annual focus on July 4th: ‘Independents’ Day’ itself where consumers will be urged to support independent retailers in their local communities and online. . A FEW WAYS TO GET INVOLVED – Follow & engage with the campaign across our social media platforms. Share the campaign with fellow retailers and customers. Download the Independents’ Day UK logo and share it on your website, on your own social platforms and in your shop windows. Contribute a blog for our website (we can then share it) on issues important to you as an independent retailer. If your business has a particular story to tell, get in touch so that we can tell your story. Consider now doing something special for Independents’ Day on July 4th – a special offer, event or promotion to bring people into your shop (particularly those who may not have visited before). . OTHER CAMPAIGNS TO CHECK OUT – @justacard not for profit campaign encouraging people to support and buy from Artists, Make, small business and independent shops. @smallbizsatuk is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’. @totallylocally Towns across the UK running special offers for £5 to highlight the value of our #indieshops #fiverfest . We want your Fiver Stories – Let us know how Fiver Fest has affected your town, what great offers you’ve seen or even if you’ve just got to meet some new people.

This is a social thing – we want it to be a lot more than just selling things for £5. It’s about community and businesses supporting each other, whilst saying thank you to people who support local independent businesses.
